Albino Geek Services Ltd. operates albinogeek.com. For privacy requests, use the Contact page.
Contact form: If you use /contact, we collect what you submit (for example name, email, message, and any optional fields such as company or topic). We use this only to read and respond to your inquiry and to operate our business (including security and fraud prevention). We do not sell personal information or use it for third-party behavioural advertising.
Product waitlist: If you join a waitlist for an unavailable SKU, we collect your email address and the product reference you sign up for. Submissions are routed to us via Mailgun (mg.albinogeek.com) for notification — they are not written to our database. We use this only to notify you when the product becomes available and to operate our business.
Lead magnet (playbook preview): If you request the free playbook preview via /playbook-preview, we collect the email address you submit so we can deliver the preview and related transactional messages. We do not use that address for third-party advertising.
Buyer interview: If you complete a buyer interview form, we store a one-way hash of your email address (not plaintext) together with your qualitative answers. If you opt in to follow-up contact, we also store the email address you provide for that purpose in our Supabase database. We use this to improve our products and, where you opt in, to follow up with you about your feedback.
Buyer account and identity linking: If you use /account, you may sign in with a magic-link email (Supabase Auth) to view order claims tied to your purchase email. Optionally, you may link a GitHub or Discord identity so we can complete delivery (for example repository invites or private Discord thread access). We store the linked provider identifiers needed for those delivery steps and for account security. Unlinking and deletion requests go through the Contact page.
Pair-engineering bookings: When you schedule a pair-engineering session after purchase, we store booking details in Supabase: the SKU, scheduled slot, a one-way hash of your email address, and your Polar order identifier. We use this to reserve your time slot, send calendar invitations, and meet our scheduling and accounting obligations.
Orders and email: If you purchase or correspond with us about an order, we process the information needed to deliver the product or service, communicate with you, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
Analytics: If Plausible Analytics is enabled (environment-gated), we receive aggregated page-view statistics. The configuration is designed to avoid cookies and personal identifiers; see Plausible's privacy information for how their service works.
We use service providers as processors where needed to run the site. They receive information only as needed to provide those services. We do not allow them to use your data for their own marketing. Key processors include:
Hosting: DigitalOcean App Platform hosts the site application.
Database and auth: Supabase (region: ca-central-1) stores newsletter subscriptions, buyer interview responses, pair-engineering bookings, buyer account sessions, order claims, optional GitHub/Discord identity links, and operational counters.
Payments: Polar processes checkout and order fulfilment for digital products, bundles, pair-engineering sessions, and flat-fee side-band installs.
GitHub: When a purchase includes a private repository or template, we use GitHub to send repository invites to the GitHub username you provide (or that you link on /account).
Discord: When a purchase or booking includes Discord access, we use Discord to grant roles or private thread access after you link your Discord identity on /account.
Email delivery: Mailgun (mg.albinogeek.com) delivers contact-form messages, waitlist notifications, lead-magnet delivery, and transactional email.
Analytics: If Plausible Analytics is enabled, see the Analytics section above.
We keep contact and order-related information only as long as needed for the purposes above, including a reasonable period for follow-up, dispute resolution, and legal record-keeping. When retention is no longer required, we delete or de-identify information where feasible.
Contact-form messages are delivered via Mailgun. Mailgun retains delivery logs for approximately 1 day on our Foundation plan. We retain copies of inbound inquiries only as long as needed to respond and complete the transaction.
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the sensitivity of the information we hold. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; we work to reduce risk in line with common practice for a small business.
Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, withdraw consent, or delete personal information, subject to legal exceptions. Submit your request via the Contact page; we will respond within a reasonable time (we typically aim for 30 days or sooner). If we cannot complete a request, we will explain why where the law requires.
We aim to meet Canadian expectations for accountability, identifying purposes, consent, limiting collection, use, and disclosure, accuracy, safeguards, openness, individual access, and challenge mechanisms, as described in guidance on the federal Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and related resources from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. Depending on your location and our activities, provincial private-sector statutes may also apply (where applicable to your location).
If you subscribe to the newsletter, your email address is stored in a Supabase database operated by Albino Geek Services Ltd. (region: ca-central-1). It is stored as plaintext and used solely to send you the confirmation email, welcome email, and future newsletters you have opted into. Subscription requires double opt-in (DOI): we send a confirmation link to the address provided, and the subscription is only activated when you click that link. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. Unsubscribed addresses are retained in a suppression list to prevent accidental re-sends. You may also contact us via the Contact page to request deletion of your record.
This opt-in process satisfies Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) requirements for express consent: the sender is clearly identified (Albino Geek Services Ltd.), the nature of the communications is described at the point of sign-up, and instructions for withdrawing consent are included in every email.
If you reside in Quebec, the provincial private-sector framework (including the modernized Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector, commonly referenced as Law 25) may give you additional or different rights. Submit requests via the Contact page; we will address Quebec-specific requirements where they apply to you.
We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last revised" date at the top reflects the latest version.
